Dr. Anhthy Prendeville

Dr. Prendeville is a primary care optometrist who earned her degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. She provides comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages, including routine eye exams, diagnosis and management of ocular diseases, and pre- and post-operative care for refractive and cataract surgeries. She also specializes in fitting a wide range of contact lenses to meet each patient’s individual needs.

During her training and clinical education, Dr. Prendeville earned clinical honors in primary care, ocular disease, and pediatrics. Her clinical rotations included Boston Medical Center, Perkins School for the Blind, the University of Maryland, and the White River Junction VA Medical Center in Vermont. Through these experiences, she provided a full range of routine and specialized eye care services to veterans and families throughout New England. She also served as a clinical instructor and adjunct clinical faculty member at the New England College of Optometry.

Prior to co-founding Clarity Optical, Dr. Prendeville worked in private practice, providing comprehensive eye exams and contact lens fittings in Wellesley and surrounding communities. She is dedicated to taking the time to truly listen to each patient’s needs and delivering personalized, attentive care. Dr. Prendeville leads with kindness and compassion and values building lasting relationships with her patients based on trust and high-quality care. 

As co-founder of Clarity Optical, Ilana Downes brings over two decades of experience in the optical industry.  Rooted in her work at her family’s business, Optical Designs in Needham, she developed a refined eye for eyewear and a deep appreciation for personalized care.

She approaches each patient interaction with thoughtfulness and intention, helping individuals select frames that enhance both their vision and their sense of style and fashion. With a strong foundation in lens design and advanced optical solutions, she is skilled at guiding patients through even the most complex prescriptions with confidence and precision.

Her ability to combine expertise with genuine connection has earned her patients’ trust. For Ilana, optical care is about more than just seeing clearly—it’s about creating an experience that feels personal, comfortable, and tailored to each individual.
